William Hill Acquires CPays and Webroute of Playtech

In one of the biggest online gambling merges, William Hill aquires one of Playtech’s biggest affiliates (CPays and Webroute).

It was announced today that UK gambling group william hill has signed a $250 million deal in which they are to aquire one of Playtech’s affiliates CPays and Webroute Services and to be merged into an online gambling giant which has the hold of sportbooks and now several casino poker and bingo brands.

By doing so William Hill actually aquires a gaming license from Playtech.

The deal will take place by January 2009 and the technical merge is supposed to take place in 6-12 month upon the finalization of the deal.

This deal is bound to make William Hill the largest European gambling operator.

According to Henry Birch, ex-leisure and gaming CEO, the new group will be called “Affiliate Gurantee” and will consist of William Hill, CPays and Webroute services.
